How to use
Take 1 capsule 2x daily between meals, with enough liquid. Do not use continuously for more than 2 months; a break is recommended after this period.
Pros and Cons
Contains concentrated ashwagandha root extract in a 10:1 ratio, with a precisely stated withanolide content (20 mg per capsule)
At the recommended daily dose (2 capsules) achieves a high absolute withanolide content (40 mg/day)
May help with easier stress management and support mental balance
Among the most comprehensive and specific warnings in this product category (interactions, thyroid, duration of use)
Does not contain patented KSM-66 extract or another specially certified extract standardized to at least 5% withanolides (this product achieves approximately 2.5%)
Effects vary between individuals and usually require several weeks of regular use
The manufacturer recommends discontinuing use after two months of continuous intake, which requires more active monitoring of the usage schedule
Does not act as a quick stimulant or direct source of energy
Suitable for
People looking for a product with a high absolute daily content of extract and withanolides
People who prefer precise, clearly itemized safety warnings on the label
People who are willing to follow the recommended break after two months of continuous use
The recommendation to take a break after two months of continuous use is not a sign that the product is dangerous for short-term use, but rather an expression of the manufacturer's caution, since the long-term safety of ashwagandha (use longer than 6 months) has not yet been well researched in the scientific literature (Winther, 2026). The daily dose of this product (1600 mg of extract) is also relatively high compared to other products in this category, so an occasional break is a sensible precautionary measure, similar to the approach recommended by other manufacturers for certain herbal adaptogens. We recommend following this instruction and consulting a doctor if you need longer-term use.
Ashwagandha is believed to act, among other mechanisms, through pathways similar to GABA-mimetic action, meaning a possible calming effect on the nervous system (Vittal and Vinciguerra, 2025). If you combine this with sedatives, sleep medications, anxiolytics or alcohol - substances that have a similar, additional calming effect - there is a theoretical risk of excessive drowsiness or an enhanced effect of these substances. The manufacturer therefore reasonably advises against combining the product with them. If you are taking any of the medications listed, be sure to consult a doctor before using ashwagandha.
In people with hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), there are rare but documented cases where the use of ashwagandha has been associated with worsening of symptoms or even thyrotoxicosis, likely due to its effect on the hormonal axis (Winther, 2026). Interestingly, some sources report the opposite effect in hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), where ashwagandha is said to even normalize hormones - which suggests that the effect depends on the baseline thyroid condition. This warning is therefore reasonable for this product and should be observed - consult a doctor before use if you have any thyroid condition.
This product uses a concentrated ashwagandha root extract in a 10:1 ratio at a dose of 800 mg per capsule (1600 mg at the recommended two capsules daily), with a withanolide content standardized to approximately 2.5% (40 mg withanolides/day). This is a different approach from the patented KSM-66, which is standardized to at least 5% withanolides, but at a smaller absolute dose of extract. The higher total mass of extract in this product partly compensates for the lower percentage standardization, so the absolute amount of withanolides per day is actually among the higher ones in this product category. However, since this is a non-patented extract, it does not have the same extensive clinical data available as we have for KSM-66 (Pakhale et al., 2025).
