How to use

The recommended dose is 1-2 capsules daily. If taking 1 capsule, it is best consumed in the evening. If taking 2 capsules: on training days, take 1 capsule in the morning and 1 capsule approximately half an hour before training; on non-training days, take 1 capsule in the morning and 1 in the evening. Since ashwagandha is an adaptogen, its effects build up gradually in the body, so for optimal results it is recommended to take it consistently for at least the first 2 weeks.

Pros and Cons

Standardized root extract (minimum 7% withanolides, 28 mg per capsule) – clearly stated standardization level
At the recommended 2 capsules daily (800 mg), the dose reaches the clinically studied range for stress support
May contribute to easier management of perceived stress and support hormonal balance
Supports physical performance during endurance efforts (e.g., VO2 max)
Has antioxidant properties and may have a beneficial effect on sleep quality
Does not contain the patented KSM-66 extract or a similar certified branded extract
Effects vary between individuals and usually require several weeks of regular use
The capsule contains gelatin, so the product is not suitable for vegetarians and vegans

Suitable for

Recreational athletes seeking additional support for endurance efforts
People under daily stress looking for a standardized extract with a clearly stated withanolide content
Users who want flexible dosing (1 capsule in the evening or 2 capsules throughout the day)
Ashwagandha 4Endurance uses a standardized extract with a minimum of 7% withanolides, which is a solid degree of standardization, but it is not the patented KSM-66 form, which has been used in the most clinical studies, including those that showed a reduction in cortisol and support for stress management (Pakhale et al., 2025). This doesn't necessarily mean the product is less effective, since the withanolide percentage is comparable to or even higher than some KSM-66 products (which are standardized to >5%), but it lacks specific clinical documentation tied directly to this particular extract brand.
The manufacturer used gelatin instead of a plant-based alternative (e.g., hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) for the capsule shell, meaning the product is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians, even though the active ingredient itself is plant-derived. If a vegan origin is important to you, we recommend checking the capsule shell composition before purchasing, as this varies among the different ashwagandha products in our range – some use plant-based capsules.
The manufacturer explicitly warns on the label that individuals taking antidepressants, antipsychotics, or other psychiatric medications should consult a doctor before use. This is an important warning, as ashwagandha could theoretically affect the functioning of the nervous system, and proposed mechanisms also mention GABA-mimetic effects (Vittal and Vinciguerra, 2025), which could potentially interact with certain medications. This is not an automatic contraindication, but the decision should be left to your doctor, who is familiar with your full treatment regimen.
Since ashwagandha is an adaptogen, its effects build up gradually in the body - the manufacturer recommends regular use for at least the first 2 weeks, while clinical studies on stress support have mostly lasted between 30 and 112 days (Della Porta et al., 2023). Short-term, occasional use is therefore unlikely to produce the same results as regular, multi-week use at the recommended dose. Responses are also individual, so it makes sense to expect gradual, not immediate, changes.
