How to use

Take one tablet (1000 mg vitamin C) daily, preferably with a meal, with a sufficient amount of water.

Pros and Cons

Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant and protects cells from oxidative stress
Contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue
Supports the normal function of the immune system
Supports normal metabolism
The 1000 mg dose per tablet significantly exceeds the clinically studied range for immune support (≥200 mg/day)
The large pack size (180 tablets) provides a long-lasting supply at a favorable price per tablet (approximately €0.12/tablet)
The citrus bioflavonoid content is not quantified on the label, which reduces the transparency of the overall formula
The rosehip extract dose (20 mg) is low and plays a mainly supportive rather than key functional role
The tablet contains more excipients (microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide) than simpler capsule-based forms
The label does not mention any independent laboratory testing of the vitamin C content

Suitable for

People who want a long-term and cost-effective way to cover a high daily intake of vitamin C (180 tablets last for approximately half a year)
Recreational and active individuals seeking extra antioxidant and immune support during periods of intense physical exertion
Users who prefer a simple, standard form of vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) with added rosehip
For healthy adults, the upper safe limit (UL) for vitamin C is set at 2000 mg/day (EFSA), so the 1000 mg per day in this product is well below that limit. Nevertheless, a note of caution applies: in a prospective cohort study, an additional (supplemental) dose of ≥1000 mg/day in men was associated with roughly double the relative risk of developing kidney (oxalate) stones compared to those without supplementation, whereas this association was not confirmed in women (Ferraro et al., 2016). If you have previously had kidney stones or belong to a risk group, consult a doctor before regular use.
Rosehip extract and citrus bioflavonoids are added to the formula because some data suggest that plant cofactors can improve cellular (leukocyte) uptake of vitamin C, although this does not necessarily affect plasma concentration (Calder, Kreider & McKay, 2025). In this product, the amount is relatively small (20 mg of rosehip), so its role is mainly supportive, while the main source of vitamin C remains the 1000 mg of L-ascorbic acid per tablet. On its own, rosehip extract is not essential for the basic effectiveness of vitamin C, but it can be a beneficial addition.
At a dosage of one tablet daily, a pack of 180 tablets will last approximately six months of use, which at a price of €21.99 works out to around €0.12 per tablet or per day – a competitive price for a 1000 mg dose compared to other products in the same category. Since this is a basic vitamin supplement without complex additional ingredients, the price per dose is a more important selection criterion than with more complex formulas.
Vitamin C does not prevent colds, and AdvancedU does not claim otherwise. A Cochrane systematic review found that regular daily supplementation with vitamin C (typically ≥200 mg/day in the included studies) did not significantly reduce the incidence of colds in the general population, but it was associated with an approximately 8% shorter duration and somewhat milder symptoms when taken regularly before symptoms appeared (Hemilä & Chalker, 2013). The 1000 mg dose per tablet in this product exceeds this studied range, but the result does not imply treatment or prevention of illness, only possible mild support during illness.
May contain traces of milk, soy, eggs and gluten-containing cereals.
Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dose
At high additional doses of vitamin C (1000 mg per day and above), some studies in men indicate an increased risk of kidney (oxalate) stone formation – if you have a history of kidney stones, consult a doctor before regular use
Pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and people taking medication should consult a doctor before use, as the manufacturer does not explicitly state this warning on the label
