Does not contain a standardized extract with a defined content of active compounds (withanolides), so the concentration of active compounds is less predictable than with standardized extracts

Suitable for

Adults who want to support their mental and physical well-being
Individuals under greater daily stress or mental strain
Vegans and vegetarians, as the product contains only a plant-based ingredient
The manufacturer explicitly advises caution on the label for people taking regular medication, particularly sedatives or blood pressure medication, and recommends consulting a doctor before use. This is a sensible warning, as some data suggest ashwagandha may affect the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and thereby indirectly affect bodily processes related to the stress response (Della Porta et al., 2023). Since this involves a potential interaction with medication, we cannot give you a definitive answer - please discuss this with your doctor, who is familiar with your treatment.
In rare cases, ashwagandha has been associated with thyrotoxicosis or a worsening of symptoms in people with hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), while according to some data it may even help normalize hormones in hypothyroidism - which is why distinguishing between these two conditions is important (Winther, 2026; NIH ODS, 2025). FutuNatura clearly states this warning, which is rare in this product category and, in our opinion, good practice. If you have been diagnosed with any type of thyroid condition, be sure to consult an endocrinologist or your personal doctor before use.
The main difference lies in the form and dosing of active substances. This product is a plain, dried and ground root powder (up to 3 g/day), whereas the capsules in our range are often standardized extracts with a known withanolide content (e.g. at least 5% for KSM-66). The powder is suitable if you prefer a natural, minimally processed form and don't mind the earthy taste, while the capsules are more convenient and offer a more predictable, scientifically easier to compare dose of active compounds (Bonilla et al., 2021).
For this specific product, we could not find a publicly published, batch-specific independent laboratory report on heavy metal content or microbiological purity, so we gave the product a low rating for independent testing. This is indeed an important issue for root-based plant products, as the root can absorb heavy metals from the soil, but an older market review found that, in practice, discrepancies in withanolide content were more commonly an issue with ashwagandha than actual heavy metal contamination (ConsumerLab.com, 2015). Organic (BIO) certification regulates the method of production, but does not necessarily guarantee the heavy metal content from the soil.
No major allergens listed.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose (maximum 3 g)
Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women
People with overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) should consult a doctor before use
Caution is advised for people with thyroid conditions or those taking regular medication (particularly sedatives or blood pressure medication) - consult a doctor before use
