Description of Electrolytes Powder – Lime

Short summary

Electrolytes Powder – Lime (OnEnergy) is a dietary supplement in powder form for preparing a drink, intended to help maintain fluid balance in the body during physical activity. The combination of sodium, chloride, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium supports muscle and nervous system function during intense exercise and helps replace minerals lost through sweating, which is especially important during prolonged exertion or exercise in heat.

How to use

Mix 1 scoop (3.5 g) of powder into 500 ml of water and drink. Electrolytes make the most sense during longer workouts, in hot weather, or whenever sweating causes you to lose more fluid and minerals.

Pros and Cons

Contains as many as 6 minerals (sodium, chloride, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium) in a single dose
Magnesium and potassium are in citrate form, which is considered a better-absorbed form than cheaper magnesium oxide
Large package (500 g) provides around 140 doses, lowering the cost per drink
Also suitable for vegans and vegetarians
Effectiveness may decrease if you simultaneously drink an excessive amount of plain water with very low sodium content, which can lead to an electrolyte imbalance in the body
Calcium is in the form of calcium salts of orthophosphoric acid, which is less bioavailable than, for example, calcium citrate – since the calcium dose is relatively small, this is not a major drawback
Contains maltodextrin, an artificial sweetener (sucralose) and a colorant (carotenes)
The product has no publicly published independent laboratory testing report

Suitable for

Athletes and recreational exercisers who want an easy way to replenish minerals during workouts
Runners, cyclists and other endurance athletes
Individuals who sweat heavily during exercise
People who train in hot weather
Vegans and vegetarians
One dose (1 scoop, i.e. 3.5 g), dissolved in 500 ml of water, provides you with 360 mg of sodium, which corresponds to approximately 720 mg per liter of drink. Scientific literature most often cites a target concentration of 500-700 mg of sodium per liter (Pérez-Castillo et al., 2024) for replacing sweat losses during exercise lasting longer than 60-90 minutes or with heavy sweating, so this product, at the recommended ratio, falls within or slightly above this range. If you train in heat or sweat heavily, this dose makes sense, while for lighter or shorter workouts plain water is usually sufficient.
Yes, the magnesium is in the form of magnesium salts of citric acid (magnesium citrate), which is considered one of the more bioavailable forms of magnesium compared to cheaper magnesium oxide, which has an absorption rate of only around 4% (Koc et al., 2025). However, the magnesium dose in this product (60 mg per serving) is relatively low compared to the daily RDA of 300-400 mg, so the product works more as a supplementary rather than a primary source of magnesium – if your main goal is magnesium, consider an additional, dedicated magnesium supplement.
The product is designed primarily to replenish minerals lost through sweating during exercise, not as a substitute for regular hydration at rest. For moderate everyday activity, plain water is generally sufficient; the real risk of excessive electrolyte dilution (hyponatremia) is rare but can be serious with very large amounts of fluid intake without adequate sodium intake, especially during prolonged exertion (Rangan et al., 2021). If you have cardiovascular or kidney issues, we recommend consulting a doctor before regularly consuming electrolytes.
This doesn't necessarily mean the product isn't safe – it only means the manufacturer hasn't publicly published an independent laboratory report testing for contaminants or banned substances, which is unfortunately quite common in this product category. If this is an important factor for you when choosing, we recommend checking with the manufacturer for any internal GMP/ISO certificates; for competitive athletes, it makes sense to look for products with certifications such as NSF Certified for Sport or Informed Sport, which this product currently does not have.
May contain traces of gluten-containing cereals, soy and milk.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose
If you have health issues, especially kidney or cardiovascular disease, consult a doctor before use
