Description of Vitamin D3, 2000 IU

Short summary

Vitamin D3 supports the health of bones, muscles and the immune system. One capsule provides 2000 IU of vitamin D3, and the oil inside the capsule helps improve absorption. For best results, take it every day with a meal that contains some fat, especially during periods with less sunlight, when the body produces less vitamin D on its own.

How to use

Take one capsule daily, at the same time, together with a meal that contains some fat – this helps the body absorb vitamin D better. Regular daily use is important for long-term results.

Pros and Cons

One of the most effective forms of vitamin D for raising vitamin D levels in the blood
The soft capsule contains oil, which improves absorption
The dose (2000 IU) matches the recommended daily intake
Not suitable for vegans and vegetarians – the capsule contains gelatin
Does not contain vitamin K2, which some other products add for extra support

Suitable for

Adults who spend little time in the sun – e.g. due to office work
People in winter, when there is less sunlight – the body produces less vitamin D
Older adults – helps maintain healthy bones
People who do most of their activities indoors – gym training, indoor sports
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has set the upper safe daily intake limit for healthy adults at 4000 IU per day (EFSA, 2023). The dose in this product (2000 IU) is therefore safely below this limit, even if you get vitamin D from other sources in smaller amounts – but if you also take multivitamins or other products containing vitamin D, it makes sense to add up your total daily intake so you don't exceed 4000 IU.
Yes, it's recommended to take it with a meal. Vitamin D is fat-soluble, so the body absorbs it better when taken together with a meal containing at least some fat, rather than on an empty stomach – this way you'll actually get more benefit from the same capsule.
The body produces the most vitamin D3 when the skin is exposed to direct sunlight, but during the winter months there's considerably less sun, which is why vitamin D deficiency is common at that time among people living in temperate and northern latitudes – even among otherwise healthy and active adults who spend a lot of time indoors, for example at the office, at school or at the gym.
Unfortunately not. The capsule is made from gelatin of animal origin, so it's not suitable for vegans and vegetarians, even though the vitamin D3 itself in the oil (safflower oil) is of plant origin. If you're vegan, look for products with a clearly labeled vegan capsule (usually made from cellulose) and vitamin D3 sourced from lichen.
May contain traces of milk, fish, eggs, gluten-containing grains and soy.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use.
People with kidney disease or elevated blood calcium levels should consult a doctor before use.

Ingredients
