Instructions

1
Cut the zucchini into long slices. Place them on paper towels, lightly salt them, and let sit for 15 minutes, then blot them dry.
2
Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Arrange the zucchini slices on a baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes to slightly dry them out. This prevents the lasagna from becoming watery.
3
In a pan, sauté the onion in oil, add the meat, and cook until browned. Stir in the garlic, tomato, and spices. Cook over medium heat for 15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
4
In a bowl, mix the cottage cheese, egg, and half of the parmesan. This will serve as a stable and creamy binding layer.
5
In a baking dish, first spread a little meat sauce, then a layer of zucchini, a layer of the cottage cheese filling, and sprinkle with a little mozzarella. Repeat the layers until you've used up the ingredients.
6
Coat the final layer of zucchini with the remaining meat sauce and generously sprinkle with mozzarella and the remaining parmesan.
7
Bake at 190 °C for about 25–30 minutes, until the cheese turns golden. Let the dish rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
