4 g per day falls within the clinically studied effective range of 4-6 g/day (Trexler et al., 2015), so the dose itself is not a safety concern. However, with standard (non-sustained-release) formulations like this one, a single dose above approximately 800 mg-1.6 g is associated with stronger skin tingling (Trexler et al., 2015), so for comfort it would make sense to split the 4 g into two or three smaller intakes throughout the day, for example 2 g in the morning and 2 g in the afternoon, rather than taking it all in one dose.
Beta-alanine does not act as an acute energy booster, but gradually raises the store of the dipeptide carnosine in the muscles, which acts as a buffer against acid build-up during exertion. A significant rise in carnosine (approximately 40-60%) occurs only after 2-4 weeks of continuous daily intake, regardless of whether you train that day (Trexler et al., 2015). Skipping doses on rest days therefore slows progress toward saturation and delays the moment when you'll notice a difference during training.
In this product, silicon dioxide is used exclusively as an anti-caking agent for the powder, in a very small amount, and is generally recognized as a safe food additive at the prescribed levels of use. It is not an active ingredient and does not affect the action of beta-alanine. If you have specific health concerns regarding food additives, please consult a doctor or pharmacist.
Beta-alanine itself is not on the WADA list of prohibited substances, however data on independent, batch-specific testing for this particular product is not currently publicly available, which is a common shortcoming in this product category. For competitive athletes, standard good practice is to use products certified by schemes such as Informed Sport or NSF Certified for Sport, which confirm the absence of prohibited substances in the specific batch. We recommend checking the latest information with the manufacturer before use or consulting a sports physician or nutritionist.
