Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to 190 °C and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2
Put the cottage cheese into a blender and blend until completely smooth. This is key so the bagels have no visible lumps and turn out fluffier.
3
In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and salt. Add the smooth cottage cheese and knead with a spoon or your hands into a soft dough that shouldn't stick too much to your hands (add a spoonful of flour if needed).
4
Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Shape each part into a long roll, then join the ends to form a ring (bagel) with a hole in the middle.
5
Place the bagels on the baking tray. In a small bowl, beat the egg and use a brush to coat the tops of the bagels with it.
6
Sprinkle with sesame seeds, poppy seeds and garlic. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the bagels turn golden brown. Let them cool for 5 minutes before cutting.
Nutritional benefits
Thanks to the high protein content from cottage cheese and complex carbohydrates from whole wheat flour, this meal helps build and maintain muscle mass and provides long-lasting satiety.
