Instructions
1
Slice the banana and freeze it at least a day in advance. Use as little liquid as possible.
2
Pour the milk into the blender first, then add the Greek yogurt and nut butter. This helps the blades grip the ingredients. Then add the frozen banana and frozen forest fruits (and protein powder, if using).
3
Start at low speed. Since the mixture is thick, you'll need to stop the blender several times and stir with a spoon, or use the included tamper to push the fruit toward the blades. Gradually increase the speed. Don't add more liquid unless absolutely necessary – we're aiming for a soft-serve ice cream texture.
4
Blend until the mixture is completely smooth, thick and glossy (about 1-2 minutes). If you turn the bowl upside down, the mixture shouldn't fall out immediately.
5
Spoon the thick mixture into a chilled bowl. Arrange the toppings on top in neat lines (granola, seeds, fresh fruit). Serve immediately, before it starts to melt.
Nutritional benefits
Thanks to the high content of antioxidants from forest fruits and healthy fats from nuts, this meal supports cell regeneration and cognitive function.
