Really happy with Matrix Fitness in Astoria. The gym is clean, spacious, and has a ton of equipment so you rarely have to wait for machines. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere feels welcoming for all fitness levels. It's been a great place to work out consistently.
I had a great experience dealing with George Zafiriadis he is the manager of the front desk who helped me with my membership cancellation. The gym recently changed names, and i decided to cancel my membership, but George made the entire process incredibly easy. He was very accommodating, professional, and responded quickly. He took care of my cancellation right away and even refunded the late fee for me. I really appreciated how helpful and understanding he was. Excellent customer service - thank you, George!

I was a member of this gym for several years and if I moved back into the area, I would go here again. It's clear the management genuinely cares about the gym experience - relevant equipment upgrades were completed throughout the years, the gym itself is consistently clean, and there are robust class offerings that meet a diversity of movement needs. I also feel like both the gym employees and attendees are respectful of your workout - thankfully I never had problems feeling unsafe and if someone did approach me here, it was always a quick and friendly interaction. When I did cancel my membership, it was easy and no nonsense. For the star off - my friend signed up for the gym via their referral program, and I never got a free month applied. Although the gym itself is clean, the women's bathrooms were pretty consistently gross and unpleasant to use. I would have loved it if they hired a female custodian at some point to take care of this more.
The gym is exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything needed for a great workout. The owner (Jerry) and one of the managers (Irv) are incredibly helpful, professional, and genuinely friendly, always willing to answer questions or offer guidance. I loved my time there.
