Instructions

1
Preheat the oven to 190 °C. Lightly grease the baking dish with butter or coconut oil. For natural sweetness, you can line the bottom of the dish with sliced banana.
2
In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients: rolled oats, chopped walnuts, chia seeds, cinnamon, baking powder and salt.
3
In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: milk, eggs, maple syrup (or honey), melted fat and vanilla. Make sure the fat isn't too hot so it doesn't cook the eggs.
4
Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ones and mix well. Gently fold in half of the berries.
5
Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining berries on top for a nicer look.
6
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, until the top turns golden and the center is no longer runny. Let it cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing, which will help set the texture.

Nutritional benefits

The combination of unsaturated fatty acids and Omega-3 from walnuts and chia seeds helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels and supports optimal cardiovascular function.
