Drain the tofu and wrap it in several layers of paper towels. Place a heavy pan or a weighted board on top and press for 20 minutes to remove as much water as possible.

Preheat the oven to 200 °C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cut the pressed tofu into 2 cm cubes. Place them in a bowl and drizzle with oil and soy sauce. Stir gently.

Add garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper and cornstarch to the bowl. Toss so that the cornstarch coats all the cubes evenly.

Arrange the tofu cubes on the baking sheet so they don't touch. Bake for 25–30 minutes. Flip the cubes halfway through to ensure even browning.

The tofu is done when the edges are golden brown and crispy. Serve warm as a standalone snack or as an addition to rice and vegetables.
