The gym is quite crowded on weekday afternoons and evenings, though it’s much quieter on weekends — but it also closes pretty early on weekends. It’s best to bring your own headphones since people often drop dumbbells loudly. The restroom cleanliness could use improvement; trash bins are frequently full and not replaced in time. On the bright side, equipment maintenance is pretty quick — a treadmill was repaired the next day. The space itself is large and feels much more open compared to the "purple gym" next door. One small downside is that they sometimes start turning off the lights before closing time to encourage people to leave.

This has changed to ownership by a British private equity firm (PureGym) so I have created a new review. It being 24 hours has been the greatest quality of life improvement. Their offering of historical statistics of visits per hour is very helpful in planning our schedule. The 4 automatic doors are also great and have always worked for me. I can’t comment on the showers as I stopped using them for a while (they were gross to be honest). If they could be given proper benches and cleaned more often that would be great. I will not factor the changing room in my rating. They took out cardio machines to replace with other machines which shows they’re likely actively monitoring activity and adjusting. I do mostly cardio but agree there maybe have been too many. Machines are also rarely broken. The only thing I’d suggest is better comms.
Ever since the change in ownership this gym has gotten terrible. No cleaning staff no humans assisting the machines are not kept well. There is trash everywhere. This gym is in the middle of a busy neighborhood in Queens and many locals love the convenience of being able to workout close to home but I’m hearing many people thinking of changing gyms and understandably so. -good folks at this gym on the training floor -training floor is WIDE OPEN in the center of the gym, and there are 2 separate free-weights areas. gym feels very spacious and not claustrophobic one bit -yes the locker room is a bit messy but you have hundreds of members going to this place throughout the day of course you're gonna get some people who are not clean. management is doing what it can to keep it clean. i walked in here on a thursday afternoon at 4 PM and yes there was a mess but it's a little to be expected when it's so crammed in here there's so many people. this is not an excuse however let's keep things in context and focus on the main reason we are here which is to get our training session in -all of the machines were working

Update: June 2026. From 1 star to 4 starts. Gym has improved. They replaced the weight pins and put the connecting clips on most pull machines. The staff does regularly clean / mop, which is great. The gym does still get busy, but the equipment is currently functional. The gym is 24/7 so you can workout anytime you want. Good gym for cardio, and if you workout in the middle of the night.
