Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to 190 °C. Wash the pears, cut them in half lengthwise, and carefully remove the core with a small spoon or knife to create a hollow for the filling. If you want the halves to stand flat, cut a thin slice off the back (rounded) side of each pear.
2
Place the prepared pear halves in a baking dish, cut side up. Drizzle them with lemon juice to keep their fresh color.
3
In a small bowl, mix the chopped walnuts, honey (or maple syrup), cinnamon, nutmeg, a pinch of salt, and vanilla. Stir until all the walnuts are evenly coated.
4
Distribute the filling evenly into the pear hollows. Sprinkle any remaining filling on top of the pears.
5
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the pears are soft (check with a fork – it should easily pierce the flesh, but the pear should not fall apart).
6
Remove the pears from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes. Serve warm, with a spoonful of cold Greek yogurt on the side for contrast and a protein boost.
