Instructions
1
Take the bananas out of the freezer and let them sit at room temperature for about 2–3 minutes. This will make blending easier and ensure a creamier texture without adding too much liquid.
2
Place the frozen banana slices and cocoa powder into the blender. Blend on low speed, stopping several times to scrape down the sides of the container with a silicone spatula, until the bananas break down into a coarse mixture.
3
Add Greek yogurt for creaminess, vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Blend again on high speed until the mixture becomes completely smooth and resembles soft-serve ice cream (about 1–2 minutes). If the blades aren't turning, add a tablespoon of milk, but use it sparingly so the ice cream doesn't become too runny.
4
Serve immediately for a "soft-serve" texture, or place in the freezer for 20–30 minutes if you want scoopable balls that can be shaped with an ice cream scoop.
Nutritional benefits
This meal supports muscle recovery after exercise, as the combination of simple carbohydrates from fruit and protein from Greek yogurt quickly replenishes glycogen stores and supports protein synthesis.
