Instructions
- 1Cut the tomato and mozzarella into thin slices. Place them on a paper towel and gently blot to remove excess moisture and prevent the bread from getting soggy.
- 2Arrange the tomato slices on two slices of whole-grain bread. Sprinkle the tomato evenly with dried oregano, salt, and ground black pepper.
- 3Place slices of light mozzarella and fresh basil leaves over the tomato. Close the sandwiches with the remaining slices of bread.
- 4Place the sandwiches in the toaster and toast until the mozzarella melts and the bread crust turns golden brown.
- 5Once the sandwiches are toasted, remove them from the pan and, while still hot, gently rub the crispy crust with a halved garlic clove, which will leave a wonderful Mediterranean aroma. Cut and serve.
